Rockets vs Pelicans Game Info

2022-23 NBA Regular Season Game
Houston Rockets (2-10, 1-8 Away) vs. New Orleans Pelicans (6-6, 2-2 Home)
Date: Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022
Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
Venue: Smoothie King Center — New Orleans, LA
Coverage: NBA TV

The 2022-23 NBA season has eight games planned for Saturday, Nov. 12, including a Western Conference battle between the Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans. Tied for last place in the Association, the Rockets have lost seven of their last eight outings, recently picking up a 116-109 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.

The Pelicans have also had issues winning games lately, going 1-3 in their last four outings. Their offense was absolutely shut down in their 106-95 loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday. Considering how New Orleans committed 21 fouls and 17 turnovers that game, a more disciplined effort is needed tonight.

Rockets vs Pelicans Odds & Spread

All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: HOU: (+420) | NOP: (-560)
Spread: HOU: +10.5 (-110) | NOP: -10.5 (-110)
Total: 233 —Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

The Pelicans enter this contest as heavy home favorites on the moneyline and spread per FanDuel Sportsbook's odds. This 8:30 p.m. ET clash also features an over/under of 233 points, which is the highest of Saturday's projected totals.

Rockets vs Pelicans Prediction & Pick

Both teams might be struggling, but the Rockets are absolutely horrendous. They're giving up 117.8 points per game so far (fifth-worst), which has increased to 124.0 PPG over the last three games — second-worst in the NBA. On top of that, opponents are shooting 49.5% from the field (No. 29) and 36.6% from three-point range (No. 21) against Houston.

While the Pelicans haven't been perfect, they're still a top-10 scoring team this year (116.3 PPG, No. 8). They're also at full health and should be able to take advantage of the Rockets' sloppy play. Not only does Houston lead the league with 17.2 turnovers per game, but they also surrender the most points off giveaways (23.4 PPG).

The Rockets are also 1-10 straight up in their last 11 road games and have lost five of their last six meetings with the Pelicans. With Houston's roster among the shallowest of all 30 teams, I really don't see the organization's luck changing against New Orleans tonight.

Back the Pelicans winning this one in dominant fashion.

Final Score Prediction: Pelicans: 124 | Rockets: 110

Rockets vs Pelicans Betting Trends

- Houston is 2-17 straight up in its last 19 games.
- New Orleans is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last six home games against Houston.
- The total has hit the over in five of Houston's last seven games.
- The total has hit the over in six of New Orleans' last seven games against Houston.

Rockets vs Pelicans Best Bet

The Pelicans are hungry to win big and should get the job done tonight. After all, they are 7-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 10 games against the Rockets, who also happen to be 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games against the Southwest Division.

With both sides being at opposite ends of the offensive spectrum and the Rockets' defense being as putrid as they come, I'll take the Pelicans covering the 10.5-point spread.

Bet: Pelicans -10.5 (-110)
