It doesn't sound like Robert Woods is going to miss playing for the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans announced on Wednesday that they are releasing Woods along with Taylor Lewan in an effort to clear cap space. For his part, Woods didn't seem too upset by the news.

Titans Release Robert Woods

Woods posted a one-word message in response to being cut, simply tweeting "Free!"

The former Super Bowl champ leaves Tennessee after just one underwhelming season for both him and the team. Woods likely expected to be the team's No. 1 receiver after A.J. Brown was traded away last April, but instead, he was overshadowed by rookie Treylon Burks and was underutilized in the Titans' run-heavy offense. Despite playing all 17 games, the 30-year-old finished with a career-low 527 receiving yards and 9.9 yards per catch with just 2 touchdowns.

To make matters worse, Tennessee completely collapsed down the stretch, losing seven straight games to close out the year and blowing its division lead as a result. The Titans appeared to be in disarray off the field as well, firing GM Jon Robinson in the midst of the skid.

With Tennessee facing an uncertain future in 2023, no wonder Woods is happy to move on. The 10-year veteran shouldn't have too much trouble finding a new team given his track record as a reliable pass-catcher.
