Robert Woods Fantasy Value Likely to Improve in Coming Weeks Due to Large Target Share

Zach Brunner

It has been a slow start to the season for Los Angeles Rams' wide receiver Robert Woods. To add to the frustration, Woods' fantasy owners have seen the likes of Cooper Kupp and Gerald Everett performing well lately.

However, Woods' future looks bright, thanks to a few key stats.

Targets mean opportunity in fantasy football, and Woods is getting plenty of looks, seeing the sixth-most targets (47) among wide receivers. He has turned those into 31 receptions, which is tied for the eighth-most catches among WRs.

Despite his impressive target and reception totals, Woods only has 355 receiving yards, which ranks 20th among WRs, and he has not scored a TD this season.

Even so, Woods is actually ranked fifth in expected fantasy points per game among WRs, but he's just 170th in fantasy points over expectation per game. With that significant of a difference, the numbers show Woods' production will likely increase in the coming weeks.

The biggest issue with Woods' stat line right now is the lack of touchdowns, but TDs are one of the most unpredictable stats in football, so it's hard to fault him too much.

The numbers certainly suggest Woods' fantasy production will improve soon, making him a great buy-low candidate.
