The New York Jets haven't exactly been a beacon of success among NFL franchises the last handful of years. With what seems like a constantly moving carousel at both head coach and quarterback, the Jets are in the midst of another offseason with a new head coach and are also reevaluating the quarterback position.

There was a lot of optimism around the league about the Jets' new head coach, Robert Saleh, and he is already impressing in free agency.

One of the bigger free-agent singings for the Jets this offseason was defensive lineman Sheldon Rankins, who came over from the cap-strained New Orleans Saints and claims Salehwas a big reason why.

Known for being the defensive coordinator of the dominant defense that took the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl two years ago, Saleh knows how to connect with defensive players, and will look to make that side of the ball a focus during his time with the Jets.

And if that can continue to help land them top free agents, you can't argue with his hiring.
