The team says he underwent an MRI which confirmed a right hamstring strain.
Holmes will also miss the Kings' upcoming matchups with the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks. He last played in Monday's 117-110 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, playing 16 minutes, recording four rebounds and one assist.
This season, Holmes has started in 50 games averaging 30.0 minutes, 14.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.
Expect Hassan Whiteside to see an increase in production with Holmes out for the foreseeable future. In 450 minutes without Holmes on the floor this season, Whiteside has a 23.6% usage rate, averaging 1.31 fantasy points per minute.
The nine-year veteran has played 31 games, almost exclusively off the bench, averaging 14.6 minutes, 7.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game. He is priced at $5,000 on FanDuel against the Suns on Thursday.
