A hamstring injury has sidelined Cincinnati Reds second baseman Jonathan India since the end of April. After spending last week rehabbing with Triple-A Louisville, the Reds activated India off of the 10-day injured list on Monday, however, he didn't end up playing against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The good news for Reds fans is that India is expected to suit up against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, barring any last-minute setbacks. Cincinnati has gone 19-21 in his absence and could use his bat to give them an extra boost.

Jonathan India Injury Update

India was rumored to be activated later in the week, so Monday's activation came as a surprise after he successfully completed the pregame warmup routine. Clearly, the Reds didn't want to rush him back sooner than needed, making it interesting to see how he performs upon his return.

After being named 2021 NL Rookie of the Year, India kicked off the 2022 MLB season strong. He managed to record two doubles and three RBIs in 44 at-bats over 11 games while slashing .295/.311/.341. It's a small sample size, but Cincinnati is hopeful that he can pick up from where he left off.

Assuming India plays on Tuesday, all eyes will be on him to see if he can have more success against Arizona than he did as a rookie. He saw 17 ABs over five games against the Diamondbacks in 2021 and while he notched a home run and three RBIs, he struck out five times while batting .118.

Reds vs Diamondbacks Odds (June 14)

The Reds could use India's help to defeat the Diamondbacks for the second straight game on Tuesday. It's shaping up to be a close matchup as FanDuel Sportsbook has Cincinnati listed as the -102 underdog on the moneyline while Arizona is slightly favored at -116.
