The Cincinnati Reds could have a future star in the making in starting pitcher Hunter Greene. The former No. 2 pick is the MLB's current No. 55 overall prospect and recently got a call-up to Triple-A.

The hard-throwing pitcher's Triple-A debut didn't go as planned. But he responded in a big way on Wednesday.

Greene racked up 6 strikeouts across 5 innings while surrendering just 3 hits and 0 earned runs. The pitching prospect looked downright dominant: His fastball topped out at 102 mph and he recorded 52 strikes on 85 pitches. It was the exact kind of performance that should have Reds fans excited about Greene's potential.

The pitcher's dominance is also encouraging given Greene last saw real game action in 2018. Tommy John surgery kept him out for the entire 2019 campaign and he spent 2020 rehabbing during baseball's shortened season.

Now Greene looks poised to take the minors by storm. If he keeps his play up, a call-up this fall isn't out of the realm of possibility as Cincinnati vies for a playoff spot.
