The Boston Red Sox will be in action against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, but there's a far more important event on the franchise's calendar today. The 2022 Baseball Hall of Fame class will be inducted into Cooperstown on Sunday afternoon, with none other than David 'Big Papi' Ortiz headlining as the lone member of this class voted in by the BBWAA.

Festivities in Cooperstown have been going on all weekend long, including a special party the franchise held for Ortiz held on Saturday night. According to Red Sox insider Pete Abraham, former Red Sox stars showed out for the legendary party.

Abraham went through a brief list of the party's attendees, and it was star-studded to say the least. This included Red Sox greats such as Pedro Martinez, Dustin Pedroia, Johnny Damon, Tim Wakefield, Trot Nixon, Kevin Youkilis, Mike Lowell and Dennis Eckersley.

A few rivals showed up included Mariano Rivera and Vlad Guerrero, showing just what an important impact Ortiz had on the sport as a whole.

How to Watch David Ortiz Hall of Fame Induction?

Ortiz was the lone member of this class voted in by the BBWAA. He received votes on over 75 percent of the ballots.

Red Sox fans can tune in live to MLB Network on Sunday, July 24 at 1:30 p.m. ET to watch Big Papi's historic day. It won't be surprising to see a lively crowd of Red Sox supporters live in Cooperstown this weekend, either.
