The Baltimore Ravens are looking to add some proven wide receivers to help mobile QB Lamar Jackson in the passing game.
Not being able to bring in an elite name like Allen Robinson or Kenny Golladay has disappointed fans, but the team is still trying to find talent at the position. Reports are that the Ravens will talk to free agent WR Sammy Watkins on Tuesday.
Watkins has multiple connections in Baltimore. Ravens offensive coordinator Greg Roman was the OC in Buffalo in 2015 when Watkins had his best season as a pro, with 1,047 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns. Ravens passing game specialist Keith Williams has also worked with Watkins as a personal coach in the past.
Watkins has missed 14 games over the past three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, but did produce well in 2019, with 52 catches for 692 yards in the regular season and 288 yards in three playoff games on his way to a Super Bowl win.
The fit, financials and comfort level seems right for the Ravens to sign Sammy Watkins and add him to their roster.
