The Baltimore Ravens' offensive line will have a different look in 2021. The team added guard Kevin Zeitler to finally replace Marshal Yanda, but they're also likely to lose offensive tackle Orlando Brown this offseason following his trade request.
Baltimore could be preparing for Brown's departure given news of the team meeting with a Pro Bowl tackle in free agency.
Alejandro Villanueva Ravens Rumors
The Ravens will meet with two-time Pro Bowler and former Pittsburgh Steelers OT Alejandro Villanueva this week. A meeting doesn't always equal a deal, but it could lead that way and it's worth it for the team get an in-person evaluation for a possible Brown replacement.
Villanueva is an imposing force on the O-line at 6-foot-9, 320 pounds. He's played each of his seven seasons with the Steelers since entering the league in 2014. He's started all 16 regular-season games for Pittsburgh each year since 2016.
Villanueva has posted a ProFootballFocus grade of at least 74.0 in each season of the last five seasons. He accounted for just 4 penalties and gave up only 3 sacks across 1,098 snaps played in 2020, demonstrating his impact even at 32 years old.
The mammoth tackle is the kind of consistently solid talent the Ravens will need if they hope to replace Brown. He's especially good in pass-blocking (77.1 PFF grade in 2020), which should help Lamar Jackson and the Ravens' passing game take a step up in 2021 after a poor 2020 showing.
