Ronnie Stanley's 2022 season debut will have to wait at least another week.
The Baltimore Ravens announced on Saturday that Stanley was ruled out for Sunday's Week 3 road contest against the New England Patriots. He will not travel with the team to Foxborough.
Ronnie Stanley Injury Update
This is disappointing news for Stanley, who has not played since the Ravens' 2021 season opener due to an ankle injury. Ankle injuries limited Stanley to just six games during the 2020 season as well, derailing his career immediately after he signed a five-year, $98.75 million extension with Baltimore.
Needless to say, the Ravens have not gotten anywhere close to their money's worth since the ink dried on that contract. Stanley has played in just one game since then, leaving a major hole on the team's offensive line. It's discouraging that he's already lost so much time and is still not ready to return, although he'll attempt to suit up against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.
The 28-year-old will be missed in New England this weekend, where Baltimore will try to bounce back from a devastating Week 2 collapse against the Miami Dolphins. The Ravens are currently 2.5-point road favorites on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
