Ravens Already Discussing New Deal With Key Free Agent

There's been so much attention around Lamar Jackson this offseason that it's easy to forget the Baltimore Ravens have other free agents they'd like to bring back as well.
While talks with Jackson seem to have stalled, at least the Ravens appear to be making progress on another one of their pending free agents.
DeCosta said he’s had few talks with Marcus Peters and his agent. Said talks are ongoing. Peters is pending FA.

Baltimore Ravens News
According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, Baltimore GM Eric DeCosta revealed that he's already had several talks with cornerback Marcus Peters and his agent. DeCosta also said discussions are still ongoing, which indicates that both sides are seemingly interested in a reunion.
Peters has helped anchor the Ravens' defense since coming over via trade from the Los Angeles Rams in 2019. The three-time Pro Bowler turned in another solid season in 2022, racking up 47 tackles, 1.0 sacks, 1 interception and 6 passes defended in 13 games.
The 30-year-old has also emerged as a veteran leader for Baltimore's unit, adding value in the locker room as well. His last deal with the Ravens was for three years and $42 million, so he's probably seeking a similar (if not larger) contract this time around.
While the official start of free agency isn't until March 15, teams are able to negotiate with their own pending free agents until then. Time will tell if Peters ends up returning to Baltimore, but for now it's at least encouraging that the two sides have already established a rapport.
