The Las Vegas Raiders have been an underdog in each of their first two games, yet they are one of just two undefeated teams left in the AFC conference. They took down the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2 by a score of 26-17 and proved that they are a team to watch out for moving forward.
The Raiders' success has also caused their Super Bowl odds to take a huge jump. Las Vegas was tied for the 25th-best odds to take home the Lombardi Trophy heading into the season. However, those odds now stand at +4500 (T-No. 20 in NFL), according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
Super Bowl Odds
The Raiders still find themselves trailing all three other AFC West squads in the Super Bowl odds. There still hasn't been any divisional games played between those teams, though. That is where Las Vegas will have its best opportunity to prove whether or not they it is a true threat in the AFC.
It's no surprise to see the Raiders finally getting some respect after they have pulled off a few upset wins to start the year. Las Vegas has played all-around solid football so far averaging 29.5 points per game and allowing 22.0 points per game. Both of those marks rank amongst the top 10 in the NFL.
More importantly, quarterback Derek Carr has looked like a Pro-Bowler during his two performances. The eighth-year pro has completed 62 of his 93 pass attempts for a league-leading 817 yards to go along with 4 touchdowns. Carr is also averaging an career-high 13.2 yards per completion.
All things considered, Raider nation has to be excited about what is happening on the field. The Raiders have a shot to make some noise this season and match up against the Miami Dolphins in Week 3. Las Vegas is currently a 4.5-point home favorite in that game as they looks to move to 3-0.
