Las Vegas Raiders fans had a ton to be excited about coming out of Week 1, having upset one of the AFC favorites in the Baltimore Ravens.

Jon Gruden's offense racked up 33 points and showed some interesting wrinkles with Marcus Mariota notching a 31-yard run on his lone snap.

Unfortunately for the Raiders, Mariota aggravated a quad injury on that play, and it sounds serious.

Mariota obviously isn't a key cog in this offense, but there were definitely plans to get him more involved this season. His only snaps in 2019 came when Derek Carr got hurt in Week 15, and he proved to be as dangerous as ever by rushing for 88 yards and 1 touchdown on 9 carries.

That athleticism adds an element that Derek Carr certainly doesn't (641 career rushing yards on 218 carries), allowing the Raiders to threaten defenses in unique ways.

With Mariota out, Nathan Peterman is now Carr's top backup. Raiders fans will need to cross their fingers and toes that nothing happens to Carr. Peterman has thrown 3 touchdowns to 12 interceptions as a pro, and his claim to fame is his infamous 5-interception half.

Despite the big Week 1 win, the Raiders are 5.5-point underdogs against the Steelers in Week 2, per FanDuel Sportsbook's odds.
