This NFL offseason has been a busy one for the Las Vegas Raiders, from inking four-time Pro-Bowl DE Chandler Jones to a three-year, $51 million deal to acquiring superstar wideout Davante Adams from the Green Bay Packers.

The Raiders have added their fair share of bodies, but they've also lost players to free agency — including backup quarterback Marcus Mariota. Although the veteran QB's presence will be missed, it hasn't taken the organization long to close in on his replacement.

NFL Network's James Palmer reported that the Raiders will be meeting with QB Trevor Siemian on Thursday. The 30-year-old signal-caller spent the 2021 NFL season as a member of the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints signed Siemian to be their third-string quarterback last season, but injuries led to him starting four games. Although the team went 0-4 with him under center, he still recorded a respectable 1,154 passing yards and 11 touchdowns to three interceptions.

Siemian doesn't have the most decorated career, but he's more than suitable in a backup role. Besides, Derek Carr has been the definition of consistency throughout his career, only missing two regular-season games since debuting in 2014. In other words, there's a good chance that Siemian won't even see a meaningful snap in 2022.

Nevertheless, the Raiders must ensure that all their bases are covered if they want to go on a deep playoff run next season. Las Vegas currently has +3800 odds (No. 19) to win Super Bowl LVII, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
