Raheem Mostert Fantasy Outlook: Matt Breida's Absence Leads to More Opportunity in 49ers Rush Attack

San Francisco 49ers' running back Raheem Mostert has been great when called upon this season, as he is averaging 5.2 yards per carry and 12.7 yards per reception through 10 games.

While his workload has been highly dependent on the backfield's health, he should get another crack at a sizable role with Matt Breida set to miss second straight game with an ankle injury.

With Breida out of the picture last week against the Arizona Cardinals, Mostert parlayed eight touches into 27 scoreless yards. It was a disappointing performance given the opportunity, but the 49ers did fall behind in that game, which caused them to abandon the run, as Jimmy Garoppolo threw 45 pass attempts for a career-high 424 yards.

Mostert still ran better than Tevin Coleman (12 carries for 14 yards) last week, and should have another shot at double-digit touches against the Green Bay Packers in Week 12. The matchup is also better on paper, as the Packers allow the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs.

While Coleman is expected to lead the backfield in Week 12, Mostert has surely proven enough this season to warrant a bigger role than he did last week. He is more of a FLEX option in deeper leagues, but can make for a sneaky DFS play thanks to his efficient production to date and plus matchup against the Packers.
