Over the weekend, Ohio State football fans witnessed their most recent stud quarterback light up the NFL in preseason action. Justin Fields turned heads with his promising performance in Week 1 of the Chicago Bears preseason slate.

Now, Buckeyes fans can turn their attention back to campus. And, it's all around the official arrival of college football's next quarterback prodigy in Quinn Ewers.

Ewers, the top-rated quarterback in the Class of 2022, opted to enroll early at Ohio State. He arrived on Saturday and will make his Ohio State practice debut today.

Ewers is one of those special talents that comes around every so often in high school and college football. The best, most recent example was Trevor Lawrence. All the reports suggest Ewers is that same-level of generational talent.

In fact, he was one of six recruits to score a perfect 1.000 rating in the composite recruiting. He's already mentioned with the likes of Lawrence or the great Vince Young at Texas. The stats more than back it up. In just two seasons starting in high school, Ewers recorded 6,445 passing yards and 73 touchdowns at Southlake (Texas) Carroll.

Ultimately, the young QB prodigy forewent his senior season to enroll early at Ohio State. The NCAA's recent landmark ruling on NIL deals was a major factor in this decision, one that seems to already be paying off.

According to reports, Ewers has already inked a pair of sports agencies for his NIL representation, (Sportstars Inc. and Rubicon Talent). Ewers won't be able to take the field officially until 2022, but he's already got his eyes on the starting QB role when that time comes.

Heading into 2021, Ohio State owns the fourth-best odds (+600) to win the National Championship on FanDuel Sportsbook.
