Now that the 2020 NFL season is less than a month away, attention is starting to shift away from offseason moves and drama, with the focus instead finally being the season ahead.

One expert from Pro Football Focus released his 2020 predictions today, and his NFL MVP pick is going to make Houston Texans fans very happy.

Analyst Sam Monson doesn't seem too concerned about the departure of superstar wideout DeAndre Hopkins, as he likes Houston QB Deshaun Watson to take another step forward in his development and take home NFL MVP honors.

Watson may have taken a step back statistically in 2019, but he was still playing some of the best football of his career. His 81.0 overall grade from PFF was right in line with his 82.7 grade from 2018.

He even thinks that the departure of Hopkins could help Watson, likely because he wouldn't be forcing targets to his No. 1 wideout anymore. And Houston still has plenty of big-play threats on the team, with Will Fuller, Kenny Stills and Brandin Cooks all more than capable of taking the top off a defense.

In addition to having the support of the experts, Watson is tied for the fifth-best odds in the NFL to be named MVP in 2020, at +1700 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
