The Buffalo Bills remain one of the biggest threats in the AFC next season, but still have a few holes to address on their roster. Although the team has much more pressing needs, rumors are continuing to build that the Bills will select a running back in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Nothing is certain and Buffalo could go in a number of ways with the No. 30 overall pick. With that in mind, here are three players the Bills should draft instead of a running back in Round 1.

1. Gregory Rousseau, EDGE, Miami

There is a chance Gregory Rousseau falls a bit in the first round and the Bills would be smart to grab him if that is the case. The Miami EDGE defender opted out of the 2020 season, but showcased his skills by racking up 54 tackles (19.5 for loss) and 15.5 sacks in 2019. Rousseau can shed blockers with his length and his motor seems to be especially strong out on the field. His versatility would be welcomed on this Bills' defense. Drafting Rousseau would give the team a young explosive player at the position to join a few veterans.

2. Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia

The Bills are so close to being a Super Bowl caliber team and taking a chance on Azeez Ojulari could be just the risk they need to take. The Georgia EDGE defender has balled out during the last two seasons (21 games) totaling 15.0 sacks and 5 forced fumbles. He could be menace at the next level given his aggressive way of playing the game. Ojulari is lightning quick off the ball and has the upper body strength needed to take on top offensive linemen. He has the tools to get the job done and could excel on this Buffalo defense.

3. Eric Stokes, CB, Georgia

Another Georgia Bulldog the Bills should be looking at in the first round is cornerback Eric Stokes. Buffalo was able to re-sign starter Levi Wallace, but it does not have much depth behind him in the secondary. Stokes put together a great college career posting 4 interceptions (2 INT touchdowns) and 22 pass breakups in three seasons of play (31 games). He has proven to have the speed to play both inside and outside while also being able to take on more physical receivers. Plus, Stokes flashed some playmaking abilities in college that the Bills are desperately in need of at the position.
