After spending two months on the injured list with a broken thumb, Bryce Harper is nearly ready to return to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Harper, who began a Triple-A rehab assignment on Tuesday, could rejoin Philadelphia as early as Thursday or Friday. He's been crushing the ball for Lehigh Valley this week, going 5-for-8 with two doubles, two homers, and six RBIs.

The reigning NL MVP was initially expected to remain with the IronPigs through the weekend and return to the majors next Monday. But after clubbing a walk-off double last night, Harper appears to be ahead of schedule.

The Phillies could certainly use Harper back in their lineup as they continue to battle for a Wild Card spot. Harper's return should improve their postseason chances even more. FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds show the Phillies at +3500 odds (No. 9) to win the 2022 World Series.
