Phillies News: Philadelphia Gets Good Update on Jean Segura Injury

The Philadelphia Phillies are in desperate need of getting their middle infield healthy. Both starting shortstop Didi Gregorius and second baseman Jean Segura are currently sidelined on the 10-day injured list.
Fortunately for Philadelphia, it looks like Segura is very close to a return. According to Phillies beat reporter Todd Zolecki, the 31-year-old second baseman continues to improve from his groin injury and could be activated as early as tomorrow.
Jean Segura continues to improve, and if everything goes well today he could be activated tomorrow.

Phillies News
Segura has been on the injured list since June 16. The news keeps getting better considering the speed of Segura's injury rehab. Groins are always a tricky injury and early reports suggested the two-time All-Star may miss close to a month. If Segura is able to return in just two weeks, the Phillies will be thrilled.
On the year, Segura is slashing a career-high .332/.379/.465 along with 3 home runs and 20 RBIs. He's played in 49 games and scored 24 runs along with a 0.977 fielding percentage at 2B.
The Phillies will look to turn their season around with Segura's healthy return as they currently sit tied for third place in the NL East (36-39). Thanks to the underwhelming performance of the division as a whole, Philadelphia trails first place by just 5.0 games. Philadelphia owns the third-best odds (+850) to win the division on FanDuel Sportsbook.
