Penn State vs Indiana Week 10 Game Info

2022 NCAA College Football Game
No. 15 Penn State Nittany Lions (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) vs. Indiana Hoosiers (3-5, 1-4 Big Ten)
Date: Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022
Time: 3:30 p.m. ET
Venue: Memorial Stadium — Bloomington, IN
Coverage: ABC

Week 10 of the 2022 NCAA college football season includes a Big Ten rivalry matchup between the No. 15 Penn State Nittany Lions and Indiana Hoosiers. Penn State could use a win here after losing two of its last three matchups, including a 44-31 loss to No. 2 Ohio State last weekend.

After starting the year 3-0, Indiana enters the weekend after losing five consecutive games. The Hoosiers' most recent defeat was a 24-17 loss to Rutgers, highlighted by the former going an abysmal 2-of-12 on third-down conversions while holding the ball for just 35.2% of the game.

Penn State enters this contest as a clear road favorite on the spread and moneyline. This 3:30 p.m. ET clash also features a total of 51.5, which is average compared to this week's projected totals.

Penn State vs Indiana Prediction & Pick

Penn State has completely dominated Indiana over the last 29 years, winning 23 of the 25 all-time head-to-head matchups. The Nittany Lions' most recent loss to the Hoosiers came in 2020, however, it was only by one point in a 36-35 shootout.

I don't believe that Penn State is in danger of losing this game, either. Sure, James Franklin's team may have lost two of their last three outings, however, those losses were to Ohio State and Michigan — two top-five programs this season. Meanwhile, Indiana has lost to the likes of Rutgers and Nebraska lately.

Led by quarterback Sean Clifford, Penn State also boasts a solid offense that averages 33.1 points per game (No. 31). Meanwhile, the 21.0 PPG that Indiana is averaging over its five-game skid is below the team's season average of 24.5 PPG. Furthermore, the Hoosiers' defense has allowed 34.6 PPG over that stretch, leading to my belief that the unit won't be able to stop Clifford and co.

Nothing about this year's Indiana team suggest that it could be a threat to Penn State. Back the Nittany Lions to win this one decisively.

Final Score Prediction: Penn State: 35 | Indiana: 20

Neither of these teams is a stranger to higher-scoring games. The total has hit the over in six of Penn State's eight games this season, also occurring in four of the last six games in this Big Ten rivalry.

With the Hoosiers giving up 31-plus points in four of their last five outings, along with the Nittany Lions having one of the nation's better offenses, I can easily see the 51.5-point total being toppled.
