The New England Patriots added free agent Hunter Henry to upgrade the tight end position in hopes of revamping an offense that struggled last season. Henry suffered a lower leg injury early on in practice this past week, but Patriots fans can breathe a sigh of relief as it doesn't appear to be serious.

Luckily, it seems like it was only a scare for the 26-year-old pass-catcher. Losing Henry would've been a tough hit for the Patriots to take given his ability to haul in passes and score touchdowns. The fifth-year player has racked up 21 touchdowns in his career and has a 69.0% catch percentage across 55 games played.

However, Henry has also been prone to injuries in the past. He missed the entirety of the 2018 season due to a torn ACL and has yet to play all 16 games in a regular season. It would be smart for New England to make sure Henry is healthy and be careful with him heading into training camp.

Henry is looking to build off a 2020 season in which he posted a career-high 60 receptions. He could easily become a go-to target for starting quarterback Cam Newton as the veteran signal-caller looks to improve on his average of 177.1 passing yards per game last season.

The Patriots will look to return to their winning ways after missing out on the playoffs last season for the first time since 2008. New England currently has odds set at +126 to make the postseason and odds set at +3200 to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
