Numerous NFL players and teams have reached out to support the UVA football program in the wake of its terrible tragedy several weeks ago, including the New England Patriots.

The Patriots did their part by donating their team plane to help UVA's players attend the funerals of their three teammates in different states.

While New England is known for often being a cold, calculating and ruthless organization under Bill Belichick, this incredible gesture proves that isn't always the case. Team owner Robert Kraft is known for having a softer side and was likely behind the idea to send the team plane down to Virginia.

The Patriots may be tough and business-like on the field, but off the field the franchise still has a heart and a human side. They proved once again that dark times can bring out the best in people, even in places where it's least expected.
