Washington Football Team quarterback Taylor Heinicke balled out on Saturday night and went toe to toe with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before eventually falling by a score of 31-23. He caught the eye of many NFL fans and players including Patrick Mahomes.

The Kansas City quarterback took to Twitter during the game to give praise to Heinicke and what he was able to accomplish in the Wild Card round. Of course, Mahomes has the time to relax and watch the games this weekend given the Chiefs are enjoying a bye week as the AFC's No. 1 seed.

Heinicke was signed to Washington's practice squad about moth ago, but surprised a lot of people by completing 26 of 44 pass attempts for 306 yards and a touchdown in the Wild Card Round. He did throw and interception, but it was off of a tipped pass. Overall, not bad at all in what was just the second start of his NFL career.

Receiving praise from Mahomes has got to be rather gratifying as he is coming fresh off a Super Bowl win last season and won the NFL MVP award in 2018. No matter where Heinicke ends up playing next season, it looks like he heads into the offseason with a lot of people rooting for him.
