The Carolina Panthers' defense has been one of the league's best units to start the year. However, they took a hit in Week 3 when stud rookie Jaycee Horn broke multiple bones in his foot.
With Horn's status for the year up in the air, the Panthers are set to trade for a former first-round pick to boost their secondary.
C.J. Henderson Panthers
Carolina is nearing a deal for Jacksonville Jaguars corner C.J. Henderson, according to Ian Rapoport. The Panthers are expected to send tight end Dan Arnold and a third-round pick in exchange for Henderson and a fifth-rounder.
Henderson was one of the top prospects entering the 2020 NFL Draft, and the Jags scooped him up at No. 9 overall. However, he was limited to eight games as a rookie, and he had clearly worn out his welcome.
This gives the Florida product a fresh start in a new environment, and he could find his spark again on a team with playoff aspirations. Henderson is also at the start of just his second season, so this move could have a huge payoff down the line if he lives up to his pro potential.
