The Carolina Panthers are having a promising start to their rebuild under first-year head coach Matt Rhule, but injuries have derailed things a bit. Star running back Christian McCaffrey has missed more games than he's played, and hopeful franchise QB Teddy Bridgewater was out in Week 11.

The injury roller coaster continues in Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings, with McCaffrey remaining on the shelf but Bridgewater planning on returning to action.

At this point, it makes tons of sense for the Panthers to be ultra-conservative with McCaffrey. They're unlikely to end up in playoff contention, and Mike Davis has filled in admirably, averaging 79.9 yards from scrimmage per game as the starter. Carolina's sights are set on the future, and risking any sort of long-term injury issues with McCaffrey probably isn't worth it at this point.

Getting Bridgewater back is good news though, as he continues to build familiarity in Rhule's offense and a rapport with his receivers. P.J. Walker showed flashes in relief of Bridgewater, tallying 258 yards and 1 touchdown with 2 picks on 24-of-34 passing, but Bridgewater is the guy they want under center long-term.

Teddy Two Gloves has been dealing, and he's on pace for career-highs in completion percentage (72.1%) and yards per game (255.2) while sporting a passer rating of 98.7.

Even with their QB back, the Panthers are 3.5-point underdogs against the Vikings according to Week 12 odds from FanDuel Sportsbook.
