The Carolina Panthers coaching staff has already undergone some changes with Ben McAdoo being hired as the new offensive coordinator. The next step for this front office is locking down a special teams coordinator and reports claim Chicago's Chris Tabor is lined up to interview for the position.

Panthers News

Tabor has been with the Bears in his current role as a special teams coach since 2018, but may be searching for a fresh start following the firing of head coach Matt Nagy. He has also spent time as a coordinator with the Cleveland Browns (2011-17).

Tabor has guided some of the most efficient special teams units in the NFL over the years and recently saw his return specialist Jakeem Grant earn a Pro Bowl nod.

This will be the second meeting Tabor has with the Panthers. However, it will be the first one to be conducted in person, according to Joseph Person of The Athletic. It's clear that Carolina is interested in hearing more about what Tabor brings to the table heading into the 2022 season.

Keep in mind that the Panthers had offered the job to New York Giants' special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey. The two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a contract, though. It's worth watching whether or not that will be the case this time around if Tabor is Carolina's top option.
