Padres Get Good News With Latest Yu Darvish Injury Update

The San Diego Padres have little margin for error as they look to secure the second NL Wild Card spot. Unfortunately, San Diego has been the victim of terrible injury luck as of late, with ace Yu Darvish one of the several impact players currently out.

However, Darvish's return may be imminent.

It's believed that Darvish could make his return on Thursday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, barring any setbacks. The 2021 All-Star has participated in fielding drills and bullpen sessions recently without issue, which points to a return being close.

Getting the ace back healthy after two weeks would be a huge boost to the Padres' playoff hopes. Darvish owns a 7-7 record and a 3.70 ERA this season, along with 158 strikeouts.

San Diego currently trails the Cincinnati Reds by 1.0 game for the final NL Wild Card spot. The Padres have +3800 odds to win the World Series this year, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
