A lot of attention has been paid to how quarterback Tom Brady will fare without his top wide receivers against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3. However, it's worth noting that quarterback Aaron Rodgers won't exactly be throwing to a group at full strength, either, according to the latest injury updates.
Green Bay Packers Week 3 Injury Report
Highly-touted rookie Christian Watson is unlikely to suit up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after he suffered a hamstring injury in Week 2. Watson did not practice on Thursday or Friday, which set the table for a Week 3 absence. Replacing his elite speed in the passing attack won't be an easy task.
Randall Cobb Injury Update
The good news is that Randall Cobb is likely to play despite missing an entire week of practice with an unspecified illness. The 12-year veteran could easily take on a bigger role without Watson or Sammy Watkins in the picture. Watkins was recently placed on the injured reserve with a hamstring problem.
The Packers will have to lean on Cobb, fifth-year pro Allen Lazard and rookie Romeo Doubs to defeat a Buccaneers team that has posted the best pass defense DVOA rating in the NFL this season. Doubs leads the group with 64 yards on 6 receptions, while Lazard has scored the only touchdown.
Determining who he can rely on when Green Bay needs a first down has to be a top priority for Rodgers moving forward in the post-Davante Adams era. For now, FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list the Packers as a 1-point road underdog against the Bucs with odds set at +102 on the moneyline.
