The NFL world will have to keep waiting for an Aaron Rodgers vs Patrick Mahomes duel. Rodgers has tested positive for COVID-19 and is out a minimum of 10 days.

This out-of-nowhere development now means Jordan Love will start for the Green Bay Packers when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Love is almost a complete unknown given he's sat behind Rodgers since entering the NFL in 2020.

With Rodgers out and Love in, the odds for this matchup have taken a major turn.

Packers vs Chiefs Odds

Green Bay owned -104 moneyline odds to win and was a slight 1-point underdog before the Rodgers news. Now the Packers have +280 moneyline odds and are massive 7.5-point underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The uncertainty that Love brings makes this matchup hard to predict. He spent his entire rookie season on the bench and has played just 18 total snaps this year.

The Chiefs have one of the league's worst defenses, though. They're giving up the ninth-most points per game to opponents and also rank second-worst in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric.

There's a chance Love does just enough to help Green Bay pull off the upset. It's clear Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense, despite their sturggles, have the backing from oddsmakers for now, though.
