Jordan Love could've entered the start of offseason workouts with a much different role for the Green Bay Packers. Instead, he comes in as the clear No. 2 behind Aaron Rodgers once again, so he'll have to focus on his development over getting real game reps in 2022.
With Rodgers absent from OTAs, it allowed Love to take a leading role in practice, and one review from his first day was very encouraging.
Packers.com writer Wes Hodkiewicz said in his newsletter Love had a "good" day in the first open practice of the offseason. Hodkiewicz made sure to point out Love's arm talent is "so apparent" even if the third-year QB wasn't "perfect" on Tuesday.
"I thought Jordan Love had a good day, too. He wasn't perfect, but his arm talent is so apparent. When Love steps into his throw, he can deliver the ball with the best of them."- Packers.com's Wes Hodkiewicz
This is certainly news that will make Packers fans happy. Love's development has come under scrutiny throughout his young career given the first-round pick Green Bay invested in him over more immediate contributors at other positions.
Many are wondering if the Love pick will ultimately end up in bust territory, but his lone start in 2021 is far from enough to make any sweeping declarations just yet. If these positive practice reports keep coming, it should put every fan's worries at ease.
