The Green Bay Packers' 14-12 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers got off to a rough start on Sunday as Jaire Alexander exited during the game's first drive with a groin injury. Thankfully for the Packers, their Pro Bowl cornerback appears to have avoided serious injury.
Jaire Alexander Injury Update
Alexander will undergo additional testing, but the team does not believe he's dealing with a long-term injury. According to head coach Matt LaFleur, Alexander was "all smiles" after the game, which sounds like a good sign.
The 2018 first-round draft pick has been a key part of Green Bay's defense for several years now, He missed 13 games with a shoulder injury last season, however, so the Packers want to avoid a similar absence this year if possible.
Patriots vs Packers Week 4 Odds
It's currently unclear whether Alexander will be able to play against the New England Patriots in Week 4, although he seems likely to miss at least one game to rest. The Patriots are expected to start Brian Hoyer in place of the injured Mac Jones and are light on offensive weapons, so there's not much of a need to rush Alexander back for that one, especially so early in the season.
Green Bay is currently favored by 10.5 points at home against New England on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
