Packers Bring Back QB to Practice Squad

It didn't take the Green Bay Packers long, but backup quarterback Kurt Benkert has officially returned to the roster. The Virginia Cavaliers product, whom Green Bay's management seems enamored with, was cut from the final 53-man roster on Tuesday.
Fortunately for Green Bay, Benkert cleared waivers and was immediately signed to the practice squad.

Benkert originally signed with Green Bay back in May and was featured prominently in the preseason with Aaron Rodgers resting up for the season and Jordan Love dealing with injuries. He completed 33-of-48 passes for 300 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions during three preseason contests.
With Rodgers' future past 2021 still unclear, the Packers may have long-term plans for Bekert. After all, the 26-year-old quarterback boasts a strong arm and an ability to scramble out of the pocket when needed.
Heading into Week 1, the Packers hold +1200 odds to win Super Bowl 56, the third-best mark on FanDuel Sportsbook.
