The Indiana Pacers started out their 2022-23 season with a loss against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. Part of the reason they may have suffered a seven-point loss on opening night was because they were forced to play without their star center Myles Turner.

Myles Turner Injury Update

Turner was injured, but it didn't come on the court, during a game, in the practice facility, or at training camp. Nope. None of those. Turner was hurt during the pregame warm-ups of Wednesday's contest when he landed on a ball boy under the rim, suffering an ankle sprain.

Thankfully it doesn't seem to be super serious injury, and reports on Thursday indicate Turner will be out at least a week.

Turner was been speculated to be on the trade block for the Pacers for the last few years and those rumors really heated up this past offseason, yet, Turner is still in Indiana.

The Pacers are going through a youth movement/rebuild of sorts, and for now Turner still fits into those plans. Any improvement they hope to show this year will require a healthy Turner, and so will dealing him, if that's the route they ultimately decide to take.
