Orioles Reveal Camden Yards Fan Capacity for 2021

The 2020 MLB season was unique because there were no fans allowed in the stands due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It made an impact on the game as home teams did not have as much of an advantage without the energy of their fans behind them.

That is slowly starting to change for the 2021 season and the Baltimore Orioles are the latest MLB team to announce the fan capacity for their home stadium. Camden Yards will be able to have 50% fan capacity for the start of the upcoming season, which is about 23,000 fans.

Of course, all fans will still have to obey the mask mandate in the state of Maryland and the seating will be socially distanced throughout the stadium. However, this is a major step forward as the Orioles will be glad to play in front of a crowd during their 81 slated home games this season.

Baltimore is looking to bounce back after a tough 2020 season in which it finished 25-35 overall and in fourth place in the AL East division. In fact, the Orioles haven't posted a record over .500 since they finished 89-73 and made the playoffs during the 2016 season.

Ballparks across the MLB are starting to increase their fan capacity and a sense of normalcy is starting to return to the game. Hopefully, public health will continue to improve and stadiums will be able to increase their fan capacity as the season rolls on.
