Odell Beckham Jr. Fantasy Outlook Points to Bounce-Back Season in 2020

Odell Beckham Jr. didn't exactly hit the ground running in Cleveland. He posted career lows on a per-game basis essentially across the board during his first year with the Browns. He was visibly impacted by injuries, though, and the Freddie Kitchens-led Browns all underwhelmed. It's hard to put too much blame on Beckham.

He looks fully recovered now, though. With Kevin Stefanski helming the new-look Browns' offense, Beckham could be in for a monster year in 2020.

Beckham is coming off the board with an average draft position (ADP) of WR10, per FantasyPros. Fantasy managers are clearly banking on him bouncing back in a big way, making him a risky, yet tantalizing value at that slot.

Despite playing 16 games for just the second time in his six-year career, Beckham was the WR25 in PPR formats. That's the lowest finish of his career aside from 2017 (only 4 games played). Spending a second- or third-round pick on that level of production is obviously worrying.

But as mentioned above, he was clearly hampered by injuries. Prior to 2019, Beckham had never gotten a receiving grade below 87.5 from Pro Football Focus in any year he played 12-plus games. He fell to 69.4 last year. OBJ was also notably less explosive, generating a career-low 7.8 yards per target.

Pair the injury issues with with the general dysfunction of the Browns' offense and Beckham's drop in production starts to make a lot more sense.

Thankfully, Cleveland has addressed most of its offensive issues by revamping the unit and hiring Stefanski to replace Kitchens. Assuming he is back to full health, he looks poised to return to top-10 WR status, though he's admittedly riskier than many WRs going around him.
