The last three days have been hectic to say the least. Stars like Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, Jimmy Butler, and Mike Conley will all be playing in new uniforms next year.
But, with Anthony Davis now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, it should come as no surprise that teams' chances of winning the 2020 NBA Finals have changed dramatically, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Lakers weren't even a playoff team last year, but they're now the favorite to win the 2020 NBA Finals at +125. They also might not be done improving as the Lakers are actively pursuing Kawhi Leonard.
However, a return to the Toronto Raptors certainly isn't out of the question, and oddsmakers have taken notice, as the team currently has the third-best odds to win next year's championship at +1200.
Perhaps more telling is the fact that the Los Angeles Clippers – another team rumored to be in the Kawhi hunt – has seen their odds to win the championship drop significantly since the beginning of free agency. The Clippers were +1300 as recently as Sunday, are now +2500 to win next year's NBA Finals.
There have been notable line moves not related to Kawhi's free agency as well. The Utah Jazz have seen their odds to win improve to +1800 after acquiring Mike Conley and Bojan Bogdanović.
Additionally, the Brooklyn Nets now have the seventh-best odds to win it all next year at +2100, following the signings of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant (even though he's not expected to play next season).
On the flip side, the New York Knicks have seen a dramatic decrease in their odds to win next year's title, as they are now +15000 after entering free agency at +4500.
Despite the wild last couple of days, the line moves have made sense given what has happened in the league landscape. However, expect these odds to shift once again as soon as Kawhi announces where he'll play in the upcoming season.
