The 2022-23 NCAA college basketball season continues on Monday, Nov. 14 with another slate of games. One matchup that NCAAB fans will want to keep an eye on is a collision between the Northern Iowa Panthers and No. 18 Virginia Cavaliers at 8 p.m. ET.

After opening the season with a victory, Northern Iowa picked up a 68-55 loss to Richmond in their second game. Meanwhile, Virginia was victorious in each of its first two games, walking out with an 89-42 win over Monmouth in its most recent outing on Friday.

Northern Iowa vs Virginia Prediction & Pick

Virginia has been putting on a clinic ever since the new season began. It might be a small sample size, but the Cavaliers are holding opponents to just 51.5 points per game (T-No. 18) on a 40.4% field-goal percentage to begin the year. The defense doesn't stop there, though, as they're also averaging six blocks per game (T-No. 32).

I predict that Virginia's solid defense will be a pain for Northern Iowa. The Panthers just shot 32.8% from the floor and 13.6% from three-point range against a Richmond team that isn't exactly on Virginia's level. Unless the Panthers have magically turned things around, it could be a long night.

With the Cavaliers also winning seven of their last 10 home games and going 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against the Missouri Valley Conference, I'm going with Virginia continuing its perfect season.

Final Score Prediction: Virginia: 76 | Wright State: 58

Northern Iowa vs Virginia Betting Trends

- Northern Iowa is 2-7 against the spread (ATS) in its last nine games in November.
- Virginia is 7-3 straight up in its last 10 home games.
- The total has hit the over in five of Northern Iowa's last nine games.
- The total has hit the over in three of Virginia's last four games.

Northern Iowa vs Virginia Best Bet

I think that Virginia's status as an ACC program will lead to it covering the spread. It also helps that Northern Iowa is 2-7-1 against the spread (ATS) in its last 10 road games while the Cavaliers, as mentioned above, are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against MVC opponents.

After the Cavaliers' strong start to the season, go with Virginia as 15.5-point favorites.
