Odds to Win NL Cy Young Feature Close Race Among Favorites

Having won the NL Cy Young award in back-to-back seasons, New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom is currently favored to pull off a three-peat, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
At +280, deGrom is the favorite, but there's not much of a gap between the Mets' star and the player with the second-best odds, Max Scherzer (+400).

That deGrom and Scherzer are atop these odds shouldn't come as much of a surprise, as one of the two pitchers has won this award in each of the last four seasons.
Following that top tier, Walker Buehler (+800) isn't too far behind with the third-best odds, while Jack Flaherty (+1100) and Stephen Strasburg (+1300) round out the rest of the top five. Notably, all three of these hurlers finished in the top 10 in terms of Cy Young voting last season. Flaherty had the best finish of the bunch, ultimately placing fourth in the voting.
As for a notable dark horse, Michael Soroka checks in tied for the 15th-best odds at +4000. If he can replicate the start to the season he had in 2019 (1.38 ERA through his first 10 starts), Soroka certainly has a chance to shoot up these rankings.

While deGrom has a slight lead over the rest of the field, these odds will surely continue to shift as we approach Opening Day.
