NL Cy Young Odds: Corbin Burnes Emerges Behind Jacob deGrom

When the MLB season started, New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom was the favorite on FanDuel Sportsbook to win NL Cy Young at +350. Nearing the end of April, deGrom is still the favorite at +210. But off-the-radar Milwaukee Brewers starter Corbin Burnes has surged up to +400. Falling back slightly as the third choice is Los Angeles Dodgers ace Trevor Bauer (+900).

The odds favor deGrom, who won the NL Cy Young award in both 2018 and 2019. His stuff has been sizzling and electric to start the season with 35 strikeouts in 20 innings and just 3 walks. He's posted a 1-1 record with a 0.45 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and .161 batting average against.

Burnes is 2-1 in four starts, and the 26-year-old has 40 strikeouts in 24.1 innings and a 0.37 ERA. Amazingly, the flamethrower has not issued a walk, and his 40 Ks, 0.33 WHIP and 0.98 batting average against are the best in the National League.
