Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is an MVP candidate this season thanks to his all-around play, with the big man nearly averaging a triple-double. However, his scoring output has been quieter than usual in recent games.
With a matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Monday night, though, oddsmakers are bullish on his scoring production.
Nikola Jokic Projected Stats Tonight
Jokic's over/under for his points total sits at 26.5, per player prop bets from FanDuel Sportsbook. There are -112 odds on the over and -108 on the under.
The Serbian big man is often able to score at will, utilizing his size and soft outside touch to be a nightmare matchup for opponents. He's averaging 26.7 points per game this season and has scored 27 or more points in 14 of his 33 games so far.
Jokic's scoring has dipped recently, with the center eclipsing 27-plus points just once in his last five contests. Not exactly encouraging is that these games were against the kind of poor opponents the MVP candidate should be feasting on.
Still, on Monday he'll face a Bulls defense allowing the seventh-most PPG to opponents (114.8). And Chicago plays at the fifth-fastest pace in the league, which should mean extra possessions for Denver, setting Jokic up to rebound from some previously off scoring nights.
