As Nick Sirianni heads into his first year as the Philadelphia Eagles new head coach, he's already doing his best to fit in with the Philly faithful.
Siriani recently made an appearance on the NFL Network's Good Morning Football and had some interesting comparisons to the upcoming season. In fact, he compared this upcoming season to the beloved Philadelphia character, Rocky Balboa.
Balboa may be fictional, but he's a staple of Philadelphia culture and Sirianni offered his best comparison when discussing the Eagles upcoming campaign.
Not only did Sirianni compare to Eagles season to a Rocky-style boxing bout, but he also referenced how the character prepared to fight Ivan Dragon in Rocky IV.
One thing that Philadelphia and every NFL franchise must adjust to this season is the league's introduction of a 17th game. The Eagles enter the season following a disappointing 4-11-1 campaign. But, there's a new franchise quarterback taking over helm in Jalen Hurts and rookie wide receiver Devonta Smith is fresh off of a Heisman Trophy campaign. To say the least, that has this team excited.
Philadelphia owns +280 odds to make the postseason, according to the latest NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
