The Cleveland Browns came up short against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5, but that wasn't Nick Chubb's fault. The star running back continued to bulldoze the opposition, racking up 134 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns on 17 carries.

It was another impressive performance for Chubb, who's opened the season on fire. It's hard to describe how amazing his start has been, but perhaps this crazy stat can do it some justice.

Chubb has been a one-man wrecking crew for the Browns this year, combining insane volume with impressive efficiency. He currently leads the NFL with 593 rushing yards, 118.6 rushing yards per game and 7 rushing touchdowns (although there's at least one he'd like to have back).

Notice how rushing attempts isn't listed there. That's because Chubb ranks second to Derrick Henry in that category with 98, which is only 1 more carry than Saquon Barkley and 2 more carries than Joe Mixon. Despite having comparable workloads, none of them are close to Chubb's yardage total. Barkley rates a distant second with 533 rushing yards -- 60 behind Chubb.

Chubb isn't merely racking up yards, either: he's converting those opportunities into points. His 7 total touchdowns are the most by any non-quarterback in the NFL right now and account for nearly half of Cleveland's 15 offensive touchdowns.

Surprisingly, the Browns are only 2-3 despite Chubb's historic start. although their 3 losses have been by a combined 6 points. If Cleveland had won all of those games instead, maybe Chubb would be getting more early-season award buzz, especially considering how he's carried the offense without Deshaun Watson. As it stands, the three-time Pro Bowler currently has the fifth-best odds (+900) of winning AP Offensive Player of the Year on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
