The San Francisco 49ers shook up the top of the NFL Draft on Friday when they pulled off a huge trade with the Miami Dolphins to move up in the first round from No. 12 to No. 3.

With a move like that, it's rare you make it this far ahead of the draft without the thought of selecting a quarterback. Which makes sense for the 49ers, who have had consistent rumors around the long-term viability of their current starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

However, the quarterback the 49ers are potentially targeting at No. 3 could be a surprise to some. While most have draft boards have Trevor Lawrence to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Zach Wilson to the New York Jets locked in as the first two picks, No. 3 remains a mystery.

Many would consider Ohio state's Justin Fields to be the No. 3 ranked quarterback, the 49ers are reportedly targeting two other quarterbacks ahead of Fields. Daniel Jeremiah, of the NFL Network, believes the 49ers made the trade to draft North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance.

Jeremiah also doesn't rule out the possibility of San Francisco selecting Alabama quarterback Mac Jones either, but no mention of Justin Fields.

Regardless of which quarterback the 49ers ultimately select, one thing seems clear, San Francisco now potentially holds the keys to how the rest of the top-10 picks could break out depending on their selection.
