NFL Draft Odds Reveal Most Likely Picks for Giants at No. 5 and No. 7

After months of anticipation, the 2022 NFL Draft has finally arrived and will begin Thursday night. One of the teams that many fans and experts will have their eyes on is the New York Giants, who hold the No. 5 and No. 7 picks in the first round.

The Giants are a team with numerous needs, leaving multiple potential paths for them to consider. Fortunately, the latest NFL Draft odds from FanDuel Sportsbook help paint a clearer picture as to how the night could unfold.

FanDuel Sportsbook is favoring the Giants to draft Mississippi State left tackle Charles Cross and Cincinnati cornerback Ahmad Gardner at No. 5 and No. 7, respectively, at +700 odds.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones needs better protection if he's to succeed next season, which is exactly what Cross would provide for him. The 21-year-old allowed only two sacks,16 pressures and zero quarterback hits on 719 pass-blocking attempts last season, earning first-team All-SEC honors in the process.

Meanwhile, Gardner is seen by many as the top cornerback prospect in the class after allowing only 131 receiving yards in 14 games last season.

The versatile CB can line up just about anywhere and proved that he can contribute in multiple areas by recording 40 tackles, 3.0 sacks, four defended passes and a trio of interceptions last year.

Regardless of who they go with, the Giants are fortunate to have many NFL-ready options available in the top-7 picks. If things go well and the prospects end up panning out, the franchise might be well-respected again sooner than later.
