NextGenStats Reveals Incredible K.J. Hamler Feat From Preseason Week 1

Denver Broncos wide receiver K.J. Hamler is looking to see increased snaps this upcoming season and helped himself out with a stellar showing in the team's first preseason game. The second-year player even achieved an incredible feat using his lightning-fast speed, according to NextGenStats.

KJ Hamler Speed

Hamler came in at No. 2 among the fastest ball-carriers during Week 1 of the preseason, clocking in at a top speed of 21.38 mph. He only trailed Quez Watkins of the Philadelphia Eagles. The 22-year-old speedster led all Broncos receivers on Saturday with 105 yards and 1 touchdown on 2 receptions.

It's no secret that the Broncos are deep at the wide receiver position. Courtland Sutton is set to return from injury this season and Jerry Jeudy could take a massive step up in his second year. Tim Patrick is another name to keep an eye on after he racked up 742 yards and 6 touchdowns in 2020.

That doesn't mean there isn't a role for Hamler to succeed in this season. His speed and ability to rack up yards after the catch makes him a perfect slot option for whoever the Broncos start at quarterback. Hamler hauled in 30 of his 56 targets for 381 yards and 3 touchdowns last season while playing in 48% of the offensive snaps.

Keep an eye on Hamler throughout the rest of the preseason as he should see a lot of opportunities to impress the coaching staff. The Broncos currently have odds set at +156 to make the playoffs and odds set at +4100 to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
