Ronald Jones' tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs hasn't gotten off to a great start, but the Chiefs aren't willing to part ways with him just yet.

While Jones has grown unhappy in his first season with Kansas City and apparently wants out, the team does not plan to release him anytime soon.

Jones has grown understandably frustrated by his role with the Chiefs, as he hasn't played a single snap this season even though he is fully healthy. This is a disappointing development for the 25-year-old, who topped 1,000 total yards in 2019 and 2020.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneer recently implied a desire to be released via Twitter so he can play elsewhere, but Kansas City is unwilling to grant him one. The Chiefs apparently like him and believe they can find a role for him as the season progresses.

With Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Isiah Pacheco and Jerick McKinnon sharing backfield duties, there's not currently a viable path to significant playing time for Jones in KC's RB room. If one of those players gets hurt, however, Jones would be able to step in.

While Jones may not like being a depth piece, at least the Chiefs are giving him a good chance to win a second Super Bowl ring. Kansas City currently has the third-best title odds on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds at +700.
