Nets' NBA Championship Odds Nosedive After Game 2 Loss to Celtics

A second-half collapse by the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night helped the Boston Celtics take a commanding 2-0 lead in their first round series. Brooklyn had a chance to win both games, but instead heads back home searching for a way to keep its playoff hopes alive.
Facing a 2-0 deficit and with their stars struggling, the Nets' NBA championship odds on FanDuel Sportsbook have taken a nosedive.

Nets Championship Odds
Ahead of this Game 2 clash, Brooklyn owned +1400 odds to win the NBA championship, while Boston was +800.
Now the Nets have fallen to +1900, placing them No. 8 among contenders in the odds. The Celtics, meanwhile, have jumped all the way up to the third-best odds at +550.
Boston's top-rated defense has been on full dispaly during this series. They've hounded Kevin Durant, limiting him to an abysmal 31.7% field goal percentage over the first two games, forcing him to commit 12 total turnovers so far.
Kyrie Irving had a 39-point explosion in Game 1, but then managed a meager 10 points in Game 2. Only one other Net has managed to score 20-plus points in this series, so Brooklyn needs Irving and Durant to do their part, plus more, to have a chance.
The one hope for Brooklyn to turn things around is the return of Ben Simmons, who is targeting either Game 4 to make his team debut. His arrival could turn the tide for the Nets, who look like a team trying to get by without one of their top players.
NBA Playoffs odds on FanDuel Sportsbook currently favor Boston (-430) to defeat Brooklyn (+340) in this series after going up 2-0.
