The NBA Finals matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat has been a back and forth battle highlighted by outstanding individual performances by LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Jimmy Butler.

With the Lakers on the cusp of yet another NBA championship, the battle for the 2020 Finals MVP award is shifting in a familiar face's favor.

James has now surged all the way to -800, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The Lakers' forward has averaged 27.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 0.8 blocks per game in this series and has been the focal point of the Lakers' game plan.

Anthony Davis follows James with odds of +550 to take home the Finals MVP and he's been quite dominant himself. Davis is averaging 25.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game this series and has lived up to his potential as a superstar player.

Both players have a solid case as to why they should be named Finals MVP, but James has gone out and showed up each and every game in this series. James is in his 18th year in the NBA and has looked as good as ever as he attempts to capture his fourth NBA title.

The Lakers take on the Heat in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Friday night at 9 p.m. EST on ABC. The Lakers are 7-point favorites in this showdown, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
